Amini is a fast-growing startup building environmental data infrastructure to fix Africa’s data gap and enable the prosperity of 1 billion people by 2030. We provide our deep tech solutions to global private sector companies across a range of sectors. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Scala, Python, Apache Flink, Apache Spark, Cassandra/ScyllaDB, and Apache Kafka. While experience in real-time (RT) processing and geospatial processing is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust data processing pipelines.
- Utilize Scala and Python for advanced data engineering tasks.
- Implement and optimize data processing solutions using Apache Flink and Apache Spark.
- Manage and optimize data storage using Cassandra/ScyllaDB.
- Develop efficient data ingestion and streaming mechanisms using Apache Kafka.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Ensure high performance, security, and scalability of data systems.
- Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in data engineering technologies.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the team's knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering.
- Strong proficiency in Scala and Python.
- Extensive experience with Apache Flink, Apache Spark, Cassandra/ScyllaDB, and Apache Kafka.
- Familiarity with real-time processing and geospatial data processing is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
