Amini Selected as a 2024 Solver Team by MIT Solve

Out of 2,200+ applications submitted, Amini was selected as one of the thirty winning teams

September 23, 2024 (New York, New York)— Amini has been selected as a 2024 Solver team by the renowned MIT Solve.  Kate Kallot, Founder & CEO was invited to New York City to pitch to an audience of 200+ philanthropists, global leaders, and investors during Solve Challenge Finals, which takes place at the beginning of the United Nations General Assembly and Climate Week.  Amini received $10,000 from MIT Solve and $150,000 from Seeding the Future Van Lengerich Foundation to scale impact and reach more lives. Additionally, Amini will begin a nine-month support program through MIT Solve and receive access to additional funding opportunities, resources, experts, and mentorship. 

Amini was selected by Solve’s expert judges from a pool of over 2,200 applicants from 130 countries. In this new class, 80% of Solver teams are women-led and are headquartered in 13 countries.

The Amini solution aims to address food security and climate resilience in Africa by tackling environmental data scarcity using AI and space technology. The platform partners with local and global organizations to enhance farmers' access to crucial data without the need for smartphones, thereby empowering small-scale farmers, particularly women, and fostering sustainable agricultural practices.
